"I met Ms. Juanita Headley at a presentation she did on “Human Trafficking” at Word of Faith Gospel Tabernacle in Trinidad in 2017.

This presentation was passionate and delivered in a way that actually brought the topic home to us. It was very informative and triggered our thinking which in turn produced a number of questions. We as a people have more times than not, seen Human Trafficking as happening in some other country, and therefore someone else’s problem. We never brought it home to think it could be our child or relative, the neighbor right next door, or the person who kept looking at us in the airport that made us uncomfortable, which could’ve been a cry for help. Now more than ever, Human Trafficking is on the rise in Trinidad & Tobago, and the presentation aided in bringing a level of clarity and awareness that needs to be developed as we go about our daily lives.

The actual group was very attentive, indicating the impact the presentation was having on us – the reality had become very real! It exposed our vulnerability to the evils lurking around, because of our lack of awareness. It also highlighted that our lack of awareness or refusal to believe it is happening doesn’t make it less real. HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS REAL EVERYWHERE AND WE NEED TO BE MORE AWARE IN ORDER TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

In conclusion, we were thankful to Ms. Headley who admonished us to care, be aware, be open-minded, be less judgmental, be mindful, speak up and speak out."

"This is the second year I have had the opportunity to witness your educational presentation to secondary school children on the topic of human trafficking.. and sexual abuse. I believe your wealth of knowledge and use of the video clips help your audience to see the reality of what is happening in the world. By engaging your audience with your questions makes it easy for them to comment and even ask questions without feeling judged. According to the statistics provided in your presentation it is really amazing how many people in our world are affected by some form sexual abuse so very early in their lives. Many may never get over the traumatic episode and which may lead to many forms of dysfunctional behaviours. Is it any wonder so many people are emotionally and psychologically wounded and are unable to live normal lives? Two aspects of your presentation left a deep and inquiring impression with me: 1. The spaces that occur in the brain of our young children whose innocence and trust have been snatched from them so violently.  2. The need to know why your answer is always in the affirmative to the question, "Can you keep a secret? The presentation has not only been educational but quite troubling especially the life long trauma many face. I must say though that the following resonated with me: ■ In light of no. 1 above we must not be quick to judge people as we do not know what they were subjected to in life. Persons subjected to these extremes of violent abuses may display different extremes of behaviour so we must be empathetic rather than judgmental. ■ We can avert a potential disaster from taking place by assuring the victim you can keep their secret. Yet more importantly what is said and done after is critical to getting appropriate help for them. The presentation was well done. My prayer for the victims in your audience is that they trust God with their future and seek to obtain appropriate help."

"I  am one of the students from the school which you shared your heartbreaking and educational story and i know some people who have went through this and still are and have not received any help. For someone to take the courage amd time to share and know the dangers of human trafficking, sexual assault is a hero.. I know people describe heros as someone who save someone from near death or tragedy but i want to say everyone is a hero but only with good intentions to help others understand and be aware of human trafficking and sexual assault and that makes you a hero because you took your experience and made it a story to shate to educate other and alot of men and woman want to dress a certain way but that will judge you and label you giving potential traffickers a target and men could also be a victim of human trafficking or sexual assault... Jus maybe it could happen to your children too...
